Marc Egerton holds an MSc from The City University, London where he specialised in Insurance and Risk Management, is a Fellow of The Chartered Insurance Institute, a Diploma Holder of the Personal Finance Society, and a Member of The Academy of Experts. He is also a Qualified Dispute Resolver.
Career
He has worked in a wide variety of roles in financial services, mainly for independent financial advisers, but also for a bank, an insurance company, a college of higher education, and a compliance consultancy. Until 2006 he was Chairman of Compliance Consultants Ltd, one of the leading UK firms of compliance consultants which he established in 1987. His main areas of activity have been in compliance, investment, insurance and pensions.
Achievements
Marc was the first Chairman of the Mortgage Code Compliance Board Disciplinary Committee and was responsible for writing the Board's original disciplinary procedures. In the 1990s he also assisted the Personal Investment Authority in a number of areas, including the drafting of new rules on financial resources, broker funds, and penny share dealers. He has also lectured and written widely on regulatory and compliance issues relating to financial services, investment and pensions.
Personal
Marc is 58 years old, married with two adult children, and today provides his expert witness services from his home in Cheshire.
